Italian outlet Calciomercato today talks about Juventus’ urge to get rid of some salaries in the squad, and Arthur, who earns €5m net per season, is labelled as the main candidate to leave the club this summer.
It turns out that a ‘possible track’ named in the story are Arsenal, who have been linked to the Brazilian for a long time now.
Calciomercato writes the Gunners continue to be ‘very interested’ in Arthur after being the club to ‘have shown the most attention’ towards him.
It’s claimed, however, that the contacts ‘continue to sail in surface waters’, with Arsenal apparently not making big efforts to get the signing done lately.
Why that is isn’t said (perhaps they’re focusing on other players for now?), but Calciomercato says this is becoming a ‘complex situation’ for Juventus.
They’re, however, hoping to ‘unravel the knot’ very soon and find a deal for his departure, meaning this could definitely turn into a good opportunity for Arsenal to find a reasonable deal with the Old Lady.
Recent rumours from Spain have also been claiming Barcelona could be interested in signing the player to replace Frenkie De Jong this summer.
