Multiple reports coming out of Italy over the last month have repeatedly stated Christian Eriksen will leave Inter Milan in the winter market.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star has been linked with a return to the Premier League and also with other clubs in Serie A.
Arsenal have been reportedly credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.
Two days ago, Corriere dello Sport explained the Nerazzurri would not oppose a swap deal involving the Denmark international and Granit Xhaka, provided the Gunners first accept this idea.
Napoli have also been linked with the playmaker, but the possibility of Eriksen arriving at the club has been dismissed by journalist Ciro Venerato, as relayed by CalcioNapoli24.
Calciomercato.it suggest Mikel Arteta’s side could turn their attention towards Eriksen after missing out on their main target, Dominik Szoboszlai. The Red Bull Salzburg star is expected to join RB Leipzig.
With Arsenal looking at alternatives, the Inter player could be one of the options and Antonio Conte’s side are willing to let him go out on loan in January.
However, the track leading to Eriksen ‘doesn’t seem to warm Arsenal’ at the moment and they have ‘rejected’ the opportunity to take the former Spurs man from the San Siro.
With Arteta’s men currently struggling to score goals regularly, it’ll be interesting to see how Arsenal will look to address this problem in the mid-season window.
