Arsenal fans can stop worrying about Alexis Sanchez’s injury. After presenting himself hurt to the Chilean national team, the player now seems to be fine and in condition to play the next match.
Sanchez had complained about a knock he got during the weekend’s game against Brighton, and despite being the first to arrive at Chile’s training centre on Monday, he took the day off to take care of the injury.
But as reported by La Tercera on Wednesday, the Arsenal forward trained normally with the squad yesterday, and is now expected to be in the starting team against Ecuador.
Currently in sixth place in the qualifiers, Chile wouldn’t get a World Cup spot now, as four teams get the straight qualification and the fifth, who are currently Argentina, get the playoff spot.
And their next two matches shouldn’t be easy. They are playing Ecuador on Thursday night, and then the decisive game is an away tie against Brazil, who are still to be defeated in an official match since the arrival of manager Tite.
