Said to be after Yannick Carrasco, currently being held hostage (not literally) in China by Dalian Yifang, Arsenal want to sign a left sided winger.
They hinted as much in January when they made their first attempts to sign the Belgian, as well as going after Ivan Perisic, currently contracted to Inter in Italy.
However, their loans with a view to buy offers were swiftly dismissed by most clubs (apart from Barcelona for Denis Suarez, and that worked out a treat…), meaning they’ve had to wait until the summer transfer window to try and seriously get their man.
Since they’re struggling to sign Carrasco, Calciomercato explain that, on the back burner, the Gunners have kept the door open for Ivan Perisic, who is still looking for a way out at the San Siro.
Luckily for Unai Emery and co., the Italians aren’t against letting the Croatian go, as long as they get the money they feel he is worth.
Arsenal are said to be ‘ready to make a return’, which is great news for Perisic, who wants to play in the Premier League before it’s too late.
However, he only wants to do so ‘entering through the front door’, meaning he doesn’t want to move to a club seen to have a lower standard than Inter.
With that in mind, a lot could depend on what his personal views about the Gunners are, seeing as his current side are in the Champions League and Arsenal are not.
