Arsenal have ‘put out feelers’ for midfielder Julian Draxler ahead of the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Fussball Transfers, who say that the Gunners and one other Premier League club are considering making a move for the German.
Draxler is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
He joined the French champions in a £32m deal back in 2017 but has never established himself as a first-team regular at the club.
This year sees him enter the final year of his contract and, with it unlikely he’ll sign a new deal, that means the club need to sell now if they want to make any money from him.
Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin are those pushing for a move and have already held talks with Draxler. They’ve also submitted a first ‘contract proposal’, although his €7.2m-a-year wages are a problem.
They’re not the only side keen though, with FT saying they have received information stating Arsenal have ‘put out the feelers’ ahead of a possible move.
That will likely come as no shock to anybody, with Arsenal having been linked to Draxler in every transfer window since time began.
With Mikel Arteta needing to add something to his midfield this summer, though, and Draxler potentially available for a much more agreeable fee than before, perhaps this is the summer that the rumours become a reality.
