Arsenal have started the process to sign Fenerbahçe youngster Arda Güler this summer.
The 17-year-old joined the Süper Lig side’s academy in 2019 and was promoted to their first team at the start of the 2021/22 season.
He finished the campaign with three goals and three assists from 16 appearances in all competitions, which included only two league starts.
Güler’s performances have seen him receive praise from Mesut Özil, and attracted attention of other clubs, ‘especially Arsenal’.
That’s according to Akşam, who state the Gunners are preparing to knock on the Turkish club’s door for the attacking midfielder.
Back in March, Güler signed an extension with his current employer and the new contract expires in 2025, and the report explains that Fenerbahçe will need £25m to sanction his sale.
Akşam further add that Arsenal could afford paying the fee demanding by the Turkish club for their player as they insist on adding him to their squad.
If Arteta and co. are keen to land Güler this summer and are prepared to make an offer to Fenerbahçe, then there will likely be more claims on the same topic in the English press.
