Arsenal have finally prepared a bid to sign the Grêmio star Everton. As reported by outlet UOL today, the Gunners have a €40m offer ready to be presented.
The website claims that Italian side Napoli are also about to bid for the player, and should present a similar offer to take him this summer.
However, according to the report, Everton would rather sign for Arsenal.
“Every day we have some sign that some proposal will arrive. But so far we don’t have any,” said Duda Kroeff, Grêmio’s football vice-president.
“The management doesn’t have much work with him. He’s a great player and boy. A wonderful person. And his agent has been behaving very well. He’s calm. Like every player, he has a dream of playing in Europe, but he’s always willing and really likes to wear the Grêmio shirt. He’s in no hurry to leave.”
UOL explains the situation once again, saying Everton’s rights are split between Grêmio (50%), his agent Gilmar Veloz (30%), investor Celso Rigo (10%) and his former club Fortaleza (10%).
It’s been a while since Grêmio started saying they want €40m for their share, which would increase the amount to €80m. But it’s obvious that Everton isn’t leaving Brazil for all that money, so we wonder how much will the club give in to make this transfer happen.
Apparently, it won’t take long until we have the answer.
