Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is ready to make his move out of the club, according to claims from Spain today.
Outlet AS says the 24-year-old will be flying to Madrid on Friday or ‘at the first hour’ on Saturday so he can complete his transfer to Atletico.
There’s a hurry for the player to have his medical and sign his contract as the Colchoneros want everything done before the international break.
AS makes it clear they still don’t know the details for the deal, even though it seems certain that Torreira is moving on a one-year loan spell.
Arsenal wanted €20m for the player, which could be paid now or next summer. AS says it’s unlikely that the La Liga could afford such amount at this stage, and since their desire is to have a buying option included, it seems they could end up agreeing this clause for the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are still looking for the departure of other midfielders, which could be Thomas Partey or Hector Herrera, so they can have financial room for Torreira’s arrival.
