On Wednesday morning, Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport reported that Inter Milan are interested in Arsenal fullback Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Despite some sources pouring cold water on the claims, the Italian media insists that his move to the Nerazzurri is a real scenario.
Outlet Inter Live now features an ‘exclusive’ story claiming Tomiyasu’s agents are working hard for a deal with Inter Milan.
It’s said the Arsenal player was ‘proposed’ by an Italian intermediary who’s part of his entourage, and with the Nerazzurri in need of a defender, the possibility on the table.
The problem is that this is a ‘complex operation’ because of its price. Inter Live claims Arsenal are demanding €35m to let Tomiyasu move.
That’s considered a prohibitive price for the Serie A side. That ends up making Tomiyasu less of a priority, and the club should now look for other targets before working on this operation.
Arsenal have the Japanese player under a contract until 2025, with an option for a further year. He made 31 appearances for the Gunners last season, missing the final weeks due to a knee operation.
