Dani Ceballos joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid last summer.
The Spain international’s resurgence since the restart has convinced Mikel Arteta to retain his compatriot at the Emirates.
Three days ago, AS reported the Gunners are close to securing the his services. However, the deal is far from being completed, if Marca are to be believed.
The 23-year-old has a ‘proposal on the table’ from the north London and also one from another ‘important Premier League club’, which would see him improve his salary.
However, the Real Madrid owned player is waiting to see whether or not Real Betis will make an approach for him, before taking a decision on his future.
It’s claimed Ceballos’ former club have been in regular contact with him throughout the course of the season. Returning to his former club will improve his chances of representing his country next year.
Any approach from Betis will depend on whether or not Manuel Pellegrini can see the midfielder as an important player under his guidance.
In addition to this, the Spanish side’s financial situation must also be taken into account, especially after La Liga imposed restrictions on wages for the upcoming season.
Once this is sorted, Betis need to understand Real Madrid’s position, and if they are ready to let Ceballos join them.
Even though Ceballos has an offer from Arsenal and an unnamed Premier League club, Marca say he’s waiting for Betis.
