It appears that Lucas Torreira’s move to Fiorentina should be completed by the end of the day.
The Arsenal player, who didn’t fall in Mikel Arteta’s plans at the Emirates, was in need of a new club to get some minutes on the pitch, and had to wait far longer than first anticipated to get his move.
In the end, the Serie A side agreed a paid loan with a view to buy at around €15m, and the player travelled on Tuesday to undergo some tests ahead of the signature.
He was spotted at Pisa airport before being driven to Florence, where he had some ‘aerobic’ tests on Wednesday morning.
That’s according to Firenze Viola, who explain the player underwent the medical and is now ‘expected’ at the Centro Sportivo Davide Astori this afternoon in order to ‘sign the contract’ with Fiorentina and ‘officially become a new player’ of Rocco Commisso’s club.
Whether they end up paying the money to make the move permanent will all depend on how he fares over the course of the coming campaign.
