After more than a month of rumours surrounding his future, it would appear Matteo Guendouzi will have a new home very soon.
Claims coming from France on Saturday say the midfielder is on the verge of joining Marseille, and will arrive in the French city on Monday to finalise the move.
Guendouzi will initially be moving on a loan basis, but Arsenal have insisted on a mandatory buying clause which will be triggered at the end of next season.
France journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter reports the clause is worth €11m, and he states the loan will cost Marseille €1m. That all boils down to a €12m permanent transfer, with completion delayed for a year.
Marseille had been trying to negotiate the signing for over a month, and the Arsenal owned player has already visited their facilities for talks. Benfica and Borussia Dortmund were pulled into the picture, but it now seems clear Guendouzi will be moving to Ligue 1.
