Over the last couple of days, we have covered various claims from Turkey that Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi is a target for Galatasaray and it was also reported the defender’s agent will travel to hold talks with the Turkish side.
In his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Mikel Arteta was asked about the speculations around the German’s future at the Emirates.
Responding to that, he said: “We haven’t talked about this (Mustafi’s future) internally, but I have known him since my time when I was at Everton. I know what he can do. I know his history at this club, but it is up to him.”
Calciomerctao now reports AC Milan are looking to strengthen the centre-back position and it was suggested to pay attention to Mustafi’s situation.
It’s claimed well-known agent Tullio Tinti had a meeting with the Serie A side’s management earlier today and that’s when the ‘idea’ of the Gunners player’s name being a target emerged.
Tinti appears to be an intermediary in this potential deal and the report adds the possibility of parties being updated about Mustafi’s situation cannot be ruled out.
Mustafi has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal and has made only three appearances in the Premier League this season.
