Real Betis have identified Arsenal defender Héctor Bellerín as a target this summer.
That’s according to Fichajes.net as the La Liga side must strengthen their right-back position after Emerson Royal confirmed his exit.
Emerson, co-owned by Real Betis and Barcelona, will move to the Camp Nou and his exit will help Manuel Pellegrini’s side earn €9m in the process.
Pellegrini, Real Betis president Ángel Haro, CEO José Miguel López Catalán and other chiefs of the Spanish club had a meeting on Monday to discuss squad planning for next season.
During the meeting, the need to bring in a replacement for Emerson was discussed and that’s when the Gunners fullback was pushed forward.
The website states the right-back has ‘lost his level’ at the north London club and after a mediocre campaign with Mikel Arteta’s side, he’s decided to leave Arsenal. This factor brings him closer to Real Betis.
‘The Beticismo that Bellerín radiated, received directly through his father’, and this would suggest Bellerín Sr is working behind the scenes in helping his son get a move away from the Premier League side.
Bellerín is a ‘dream’ signing for Pellegrini’s side and at the same time, his transfer could be a ‘luxury’ for the Spanish club, who need to make new additions to the squad after qualifying for the Europa League.
