Following the end of Lucas Torreira’s loan spell at Fiorentina, who did not use their right of buying him this summer, the midfielder continues to look for a destination away from Arsenal.
According to reports from Italy today, the player could stay in Serie A, where Lazio are a possibility for his future.
Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) today writes that Torreira ‘continues to offer himself’ to Lazio, who may actually end up becoming interested in signing him from Arsenal.
It’s said that club director Igli Tare now ‘listens’ to the player’s request, and already held talks with the Gunners about a summer deal.
The transfer is now said to be an ‘opportunity’, even though it hadn’t been in the original plans for the summer.
The report doesn’t point out how much would Lazio possibly spend on the signing, only highlighting Torreira’s wish to leave Arsenal and return to Italy.
The option Fiorentina had to buy the player had been of €15m, so the Gunners may or may not stick to that price for his sale.
