Earlier this week, we covered a story from the Italian media surrounding the situation of Sokratis Papastathopoulos at Arsenal.
As has been widely touted over the past month or so, the Greek defender has been lined up as Kalidou Koulibaly’s replacement, but with Napoli short of offers for their Senegalese star, the move is currently stuck.
The report from Gazzetta dello Sport suggested Sokratis didn’t want to wait too long for fear of being stuck at the Emirates, and with ‘rich offers’ from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, there would come a point when a decision would need to be made.
This is echoed by Corriere dello Sport on Friday, who report the Arsenal defender is ‘beginning to show signs of impatience’ and recently explained ‘he’s not willing to wait indefinitely’.
He gave everyone a deadline, and has told Napoli he’ll give them ‘a few more days’ before then ‘feeling free to make all the appropriate choices’.
He wants ‘to understand if there are concrete possibilities for the sale of Koulibaly’, simply making sure ‘his wait will not be in vain’.
There’s ten days to sort everything out, but if no offers arrive for the Napoli star, Sokratis will seemingly have to decide on another move.
