AC Milan are interested in Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, according to reports from Italy.
Outlet TuttoMercatoWeb today writes that the Rossoneri ‘haven’t stopped’ with summer business and now have the 22-year-old’s name ‘in their sights’.
They claim that with Lokonga losing space in the team, having played little since December, Arsenal are now ‘open’ to letting him go this summer.
Milan are said to be in contact with the midfielder’s entourage, with TuttoMercatoWeb claiming the Rossoneri are working to ‘try and catch him immediately’.
For now, the outlet doesn’t say how much the Serie A giants would like to spend on the transfer, or even what Arsenal requests to let the Belgian player leave are.
Lokonga joined the Gunners on a €17.5m move from Anderlecht last summer.
He even had regular starts in his first months at the club, but since Mikel Arteta took him out of the team, it’s been harder for him to have more minutes, and only had a fair sequence in April.
As for the new season, the midfielder featured for just one minute in the Premier League opening round at the weekend, which probably wasn’t what he would have wanted to convince him of staying.
