Arsenal are again getting highlighted in the race for Real Valladolid youngster Ivan Fresneda.

This time, the news comes from Portugal, where newspaper Record explains the difficulties that Sporting have been finding to sign the 18-year-old.

The outlet claims that the Lions are being forced to make an ‘additional effort’ for Fresneda because of competition from the Premier League.

It’s said the player has the dream of playing in England, and that has become the ‘main obstacle’ in the talks between Sporting and his agent Fali Ramadami.

It turns out that Arsenal are the only Premier League side mentioned in the story, named as ‘one of the interested parties’.

Real Valladolid are said to be demanding €15m for the transfer, although it’s thought they’d negotiate for €10m plus €5m in bonus payments.

Arsenal just need to be aware that the competition for the youngster is huge. Record name the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Chelsea and Manchester City have also both been linked in recent weeks.
