Earlier on Tuesday, we covered a claim from Italy that Arsenal have agreed a €30m offer to sign Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria this summer.
The midfielder has a €25m buyout clause, and Arsenal would likely be paying more so Sampdoria will let them spread the payments over a number of years. It wouldn’t be such an unusual situation.
It was stated that no personal terms agreement had yet been found between Torreira and the Premier League club, but now there’s a new claim on that.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has been on Sportitalia and claimed terms have been agreed between the two parties. He’s also tweeted the information, and says a deal worth €3m a season (which is likely to be after tax) plus bonuses has been agreed.
Commissions have also been sorted out.
If both the claims of an agreed fee and agreed personal terms are correct then this one looks like it could be a done deal.
Update: Gazzetta dello Sport are now independently reporting a transfer fee and terms have been agreed on the deal, and they believe Lucas Torreira is very close to becoming an Arsenal player.
From Germany: Bernd Leno now expected to sign for Arsenal, announcement could be quick.
