Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has signed his contract with Schalke after terminating his deal at the Emirates.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany, who say the deal now hinges on the relevant files being uploaded to the transfer system.
Mustafi has been edging closer to a move to Schalke throughout today, with them identifying him as the replacement for Ozan Kabak, who is on his way to Liverpool.
The deal appeared to have hit a snag when Mustafi’s attempts to terminate his contract at Arsenal hit the buffers, but those issues have since been cleared up, with the latest reports that his agent was at Schalke to finalise the move.

That now appears to have been done, with Sky reporting that he has just signed a six-month deal with the Bundesliga side, whom he will leave as a free agent in the summer.
The relevant files for the deal are now being uploaded and, barring any last-minute, deadline day internet issues, his move from Arsenal will be completed.
