If you were to ask any Arsenal fan three games into the season whether they felt they had a chance of signing a player like Paulo Dybala on a free, their answer would probably have been no.

After all, the Gunners started the campaign pretty badly, with Mikel Arteta’s job reportedly on the line at one point, but time, a few signings and a good run of form has changed everything for the London side, who are now favourites to finish inside the top four.

That would mean Champions League football, something the club has missed for a few years, and the ability to lure better players to the Emirates, like Dybala.

The Argentine now looks set to leave Juventus on a free at the end of the season after the latest talks regarding a renewal in Turin fell through, and both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport mention Arsenal as a potential landing spot.

They would be competing with north London rivals Tottenham for his signature, as well as Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and undoubtedly a few others, but the former of the two aforementioned newspapers say ‘it’s right to pay attention to the movements of the two’ clubs from the capital, with the Gunners ‘in full swing for a return to the Champions League’.

Corriere dello Sport provide a bit more, claiming Arsenal ‘are on the move’, clearly interested in seeing if they have a chance to acquire the Argentina international, who can provide both goals and assists aplenty if he clicks with those around him.

While it’s made clear Dybala ‘never considered England as a first option’ in the past, things have changed because ‘now he is not closed to the idea’, since he needs to find himself a new club for next season.
