Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is at the top of Fiorentina’s list of preferred signings this summer.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the Italian side are ‘keeping an eye’ on the Arsenal man.
The newspaper explains that the Serie A side would like to sign a midfielder if they can and have three names on their list; Torreira, Stefano Sensi and Ellyes Skhiri.
Each player has their own characteristics that the club likes, but it is the Arsenal man who they have at the top of the pile.
He recently returned to Arsenal from a loan spell with Atlético Madrid and is at ‘the top of the preferences’ because of his knowledge of Italian football, international experience and quality.
There is no mention of what they want to pay for the Uruguayan, or even if they’ve been in contact with Arsenal about a possible move as yet.
Should they do so, they are likely to find the Gunners willing to sell, with it having been made clear that Torreira isn’t part of Mikel Arteta’s plans moving forwards.
Indeed, a move away from the Emirates has been presented as pretty much certain this summer, and it will be interesting to see if Fiorentina is where he ends up with that in mind.
