Borussia Dortmund are looking at a loan deal for Arsenal’s Alexander Zinchenko, with the first discussions taking place between the parties.
That’s according to journalist Patrick Berger, who reports that Dortmund already explored the idea of a move in the summer.
Arsenal are willing to talk about the Ukrainian but want a firm sale. If they cannot secure that, they want an obligation to buy included in a loan deal. Their asking price is et at €20m.
Whether Dortmund would be willing to pay that isn’t mentioned. For now, the left-back appears to just be one option on the list alongside Chelsea’s Renato Veiga. His current deal with Arsenal runs until 2026.
The 28-year-old has found himself out of the picture for Arsenal this season. He’s made just seven appearances in the Premier League and two in the Champions League. They’ve totalled 237 minutes and 20 minutes each.
That has largely been due to injury, with a calf problem early on int eh campaign and a knock picked up in December limiting his time on the pitch.
He’s also found himself behind Riccardo Calafiori and even youngster Miles Lewis-Skelly in Arteta’s pecking order, though, and it seems that’s led Dortmund to explore the idea of taking him from Arsenal this month.
