Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is ‘increasingly optimistic’ about securing a move to Barcelona on deadline day.
That’s according to journalist Ferran Martinez, who says the defender has received both ‘internal and external signals’ that Barcelona see him as an option to reinforce their squad.
The defender returned to Arsenal this summer following a successful loan spell at Real Betis last season but is not a part of Mikel Arteta’s plans moving forwards.
He had wanted to return to Betis, but their finances have prohibited that, and he has instead emerged as an option for Barcelona in recent weeks.
They’re keen to add a right-back to their squad before the end of the window with their tight finances making Bellerin, who would be a low-cost option, an attractive option.
He’s been waiting for a transfer to develop and Martinez reports that he is ‘increasingly optimistic’ about it happening on deadline day.
The journalist says that the Arsenal man has had hints from both Barcelona and his own entourage that he is an option for Los Cules, although Barcelona are simply saying they’re keeping all options open for now.
Either way, Bellerin believes it could be happening so his name is one to keep an eye on during deadline day.
