Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares is ‘already a bargain’ for Lazio, who will surely want to pay the €5m needed to sign him permanently in the summer.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who report that the Arsenal defender is ‘worth four times’ that amount for the Italian side.
Tavares joined Lazio on loan from Arsenal in the summer, the latest in a growing list of loan deals for the 24-year-old, whose enjoyed previous spells at Marseille and Nottingham Forest since joining the Gunners in an €8m deal in July 2021.
He failed to impress at either of those clubs but has hit the ground running in Italy, with five assists in five games in Serie A to date.
He’s been a massive hit, and all indications are that the Italian side will look to buy him permanently next summer if he continues.
TMW say that is possible thanks to a €5m clause in the loan agreement with Arsenal, a figure that makes him ‘a bargain for Lazio’ as he’s ‘already worth four times that’.
They say the defender has been among the best players at the start of the Serie A season and the €5m figure to buy him is ‘more than sustainable’ for Lazio’s coffer. Indeed, it can be described as a ‘trifle’ give the ‘explosive’ form he’s been in so far.
He’s become a key player since his arrival and even President Claudio Lotito will be ‘rubbing his hands together’ at the prospect of a deal.
Arsenal will like have a percentage of a future resale included but even with that, a permanent deal for Lazio is seen as a complete bargain that they’ll have to snatch up.
