Moussa Dembélé has impressed for Lyon this season, scoring 22 goals and managing seven assists in all competitions.
Friday’s edition of L’Equipe state Arsenal had sent their scouts to watch the 23-year-old in action during this campaign, and it’s claimed the Gunners have ‘maintained the relationship’ with the Frenchman’s entourage.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the north London club’s two recognised attackers, are drawing attention from elsewhere, and the French outlet states ‘a name that will haunt’ Arsenal’s transfer window is that of the Gabon international.
With a contract until 2021, it’s not clear if the former Borussia Dortmund star will continue at the Emirates or if he’ll leave in the summer, while Inter Milan have made requests for Lacazette.
Dembélé is in Arsenal’s transfer list, whose valuation has dropped to €50m due to the global health crsis.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side are unsure whether or not to sign a forward (one or two) and everything will ‘depend primarily on Aubameyang’s decision’.
If they do, then they could turn their attention to Dembélé, but it remains to be seen if they’ll be willing to go as high as €50m for him.
