Arsenal have made a ‘first enquiry’ for Juventus forward Dejan Kulusevski, who is looking to leave the Italian side in search of more playing time.
That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who say the Gunners turned their attention to the Juventus man after negotiations with Dusan Vlahovic’s agent failed to get going.
Arsemal were heavily linked with the Fiorentina forward over the last week, even reaching an initial agreement with the Serie A side for a transfer.
However, that soon stumbled when his agent refused to discuss a deal, the player making it clear he wasn’t interested in a transfer to the Emirates.
Undeterred, Arsenal have simply turned their attention elsewhere in Italy and have now ‘set their sights’ on Juventus’ Kulusevski.
Indeed, they have made an ‘first enquiry’ to sign the forward, who has one goal and an assist in 15 games for Juventus this season.
He’s been linked with a move away from the club for the past few weeks, and the player even hinted at a move away today when he made it clear he wants to be playing regularly.
“Patience. This is a fantastic challenge. I love to play, and I do not like to sit on the bench. We will see how it goes,” he told Fotbollskanalen.
“It is good that there are clubs (who are interested), because if it does not work in one place then maybe it works in another place.
“I’ll see how it goes. I love Juventus, and I like to be there, then we’ll see what happens. There is a lot of time left. But I have to start playing more and scoring goals and assists.”
He may now have that opportunity in the form of Arsenal, who are seemingly keen and have taken the first step towards making a move happen.
Of course, it’s just an ‘enquiry’ at this moment in time, but perhaps things will pick up the closer we get to the January transfer window.
