There’s clearly a big dilemma at Barcelona for the January transfer window.

With the club’s financial crisis, they are in no condition to make big signings in the middle of the season. However, as they currently sit 9th in La Liga and have just changed managers, there’s of course the urge for new reinforcements.

One of the names who has been strongly linked to Barça is the one of Manchester City star Raheem Sterling, and as he’d obviously be an expensive transfer, especially in January, a solution is today brought by the Spanish media.

Marca features a story pointing out that the club have ‘no money’, and to get new signings, they’ll need to only pay in the future. So those would be ‘loans with options to buy’.

Sterling is said to be one of the names on their wish list, and according to Marca, the ‘key’ for the negotiation is with Manchester City.

It’s said ‘everything is in hands’ of the Premier League side.

Marca doesn’t say how much Barça would offer for that buying clause, but considering how unlikely this operation looks, they’d definitely have to put a large amount on the table.
