In January 2018, Nicolás Tagliafico left Argentine club Independiente and moved to Ajax and has been a regular for the Eredivisie outfit in the left-back position.
Spanish newspaper Marca claims there are several clubs chasing the 26-year-old, with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid among those interested. The story’s headline claims Arsenal have also joined the bidding war for the fullback.
It is claimed that Unai Emery’s side are ‘best positioned’ to secure the services of the South American.
The north London club currently have the services of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac as the recognised players in the left side of the back four and Marca claims Tagliafico could be a replacement for the 33-year-old Spaniard.
Having arrived at the club a year ago, the Argentine is open to the idea of leaving Ajax to take another big step in his career.
If Los Blancos or Atletico are seriously interested in Tagliafico, then it could possibly hinder Arsenal’s chances of landing him.
