Juventus star Paulo Dybala is back being linked to Arsenal today. This time not by the Italian media, but by their counterparts in Spain.
It’s outlet Sport who says the Gunners would like to sign the Old Lady striker once they lose Martin Odegaard at the end of the season.
The report claims Arsenal are pretty happy with Odegaard, but it’s ‘clear’ his future doesn’t lie in London, since he’s back at Real Madrid at the end of the loan spell.
In the absence of the Norwegian star, Mikel Arteta ‘would be delighted’ to have Dybala, who should be on his way out of Juventus in the summer.
Sport writes that Dybala has his ‘days counted’ in Italy, and with his contract expiring in 2022, he’s likely to be sold in the coming months.
However, the report also points out a couple of factors which make things difficult for Arsenal. First that Juventus won’t let him go for a cheap price, and also that it must be seen if Dybala would like the move, since the Gunners may not play in European competitions next season.
On top of that, Odegaard and Dybala are clearly different types of player so it wouldn’t be a like-for-like replacement
