Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on Real Betis star Nabil Fekir, according to a ‘Top Secret’ report from today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo.
It’s claimed the Gunners, Newcastle United and AC Milan are ‘interested’ in the World Cup winner.
The La Liga club will need €50m to let the France international leave in the summer, which none of the three clubs are willing to meet.
As of today, there’s no guarantee of European football at the north London club next season and that could out Fekir off a move to Arsenal.
The newspaper adds the player is happy with his current employer and will only consider leaving Betis if there is a call from Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Fekir is not considered as a summer target at the Camp Nou, but his performances against the Catalan club and Los Blancos earlier this season have drawn attention from Zinedine Zidane’s side.
The Frenchman’s performances left such an impression that Florentino Pérez gave orders for his signing. However, ‘nothing has happened’ so far.
Although Arsenal would have been interested in Fekir, their unwillingness to meet Betis’ €50m valuation, lack of European football next season and the player not being keen to join them makes any potential move in the summer difficult, report Mundo.
