Gazzetta dello Sport report in their Thursday edition that Carlos Bacca and AC Milan are in a paradox situation. Bacca wants to play in the Champions League, and he’d ideally like that to be for AC Milan.
AC Milan also want to play in the Champions League, and Bacca’s goals may well help them get there. The problem is they need to sell the striker in order to fund improvements elsewhere in the team.
The grand old Italian club isn’t in the best of shape and Bacca being sold is what Milan want. Yet when moving, Bacca obviously wants Champions League football and there’s been talk of interest from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
Gazzetta say both those clubs have ‘other ideas’, and whether Bacca likes it or not, the only real interest right now is West Ham. If he stays at Milan then he knows the club won’t be able to invest heavily to help a push for the Champions League, and he’ll also know he was unwanted.
A mess.
