A week ago, we relayed news from Spain that Arsenal are in the picture for Álvaro Morata and he will not continue at Atlético Madrid for ‘various reasons’.
The striker is on loan at Juventus and they have an option to make his stay permanent for €35m. On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported the Serie A side are ready to offer €15m plus €5m in bonuses.
AS have responded to Corriere’s claims and also mention Arsenal in today’s edition of the newspaper.
The Turin club’s offer of €15m plus bonuses ‘does not satisfy’ the La Liga side. The latter are aware it is ‘complicated’ to receive €35m from Juve, especially after they took Dušan Vlahović from Fiorentina in January.
Diego Simeone’s side are also aware the Spain international has a ‘good line-up on the international market’ and therefore, will not give him away to Juve or another club. In recent months, Arsenal and Barcelona ‘have joined as suitors’ of the 29-year-old.
The Gunners and Barca have the ex-Chelsea man on their ‘agenda’ this summer.
AS further explain the north London club, with Mikel Arteta at the helm, ‘understand that he is the piece they need’ next season. However, a lack of Champions League football next season could ‘work against’ Arsenal this summer.
The Premier League side are fifth in the table with 66 points, and are two points behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur.
