Arriving at Arsenal with much fanfare due to both his stats at Lille and the transfer fee paid by the Gunners, Nicolas Pépé never lived up to the hype.
The right winger has scored 27 goals and assisted another 21 in 112 games for the Gunners since joining, but has been rarely used by Mikel Arteta of late.
The Ivory Coast international last started a Premier League game on October 18th in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace, suggesting he isn’t really in Arsenal’s plans.
In fact, it appears there are some trying to force an exit from the Gunners, with Foot Mercato claiming that Pépé has been ‘offered’ to Paris Saint-Germain.
The London side are ‘already looking for a replacement’, meaning the ‘divorce has already been taken place between the two parties’.
His next move remains a mystery, however, but it’s said the player ‘has been offered to several clubs, starting with Paris Saint-Germain’.
The idea here would be to reunite him with Luis Campos, who was the one who initially signed him for Lille when he was in charge of such matters in the north of France.
Something to keep an eye on.
