Former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has admitted he would like to come back to the club in some capacity in future.
The midfielder became a huge fan favourite at the Emirates after arriving in a £17m deal from Málaga in 2012.
He went on to make 180 appearances for the club in six years before joining Villarreal on a free transfer in 2018.
That tally would have been significantly higher had serious injury issues later in his Arsenal career not led him to seek a move elsewhere in an attempt to get his career back on track.
The Spaniard has regularly spoken of his love for the club since admitting he was upset at missing out on the chance to say goodbye properly when he did depart.
A return at some point has been mooted and, speaking about his Arsenal legacy; he’s revealed it’s something he’s very much open to.
“I don’t know what my legacy is,” AS report him saying.
“You have to ask the fans, but I want to thank them all.
“I don’t know what I’ll do next, maybe a coach, maybe a sports manager, but I’d like to come back.”
At 35-years-old, now is undoubtedly the time for Cazorla to be thinking about the future and what he’ll be doing next.
A return to Arsenal, where he felt at home and is still loved, would certainly make sense and be the perfect place for him to get his coaching career started.
With Mikel Arteta at the helm, another former player who has returned in a coaching capacity, perhaps now is the ideal time for Cazorla to explore the idea further.
