Nabil Fekir is set to leave Lyon this summer and Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in him.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who cover the Frenchman’s future today and say Arsenal have ‘expressed interest’.
The newspaper reports that the midfielder ‘is determined’ to leave Lyon this summer. Unfortunately, though, he doesn’t have many offers.
Despite being a World Cup winner there is hesitation around the 25-year-old because of a history of knee injuries, something which, according to some, scuppered his move to Liverpool last summer.
Now his agent Jorge Mendes is pushing to find a new club for him and Arsenal are one of those stated as interested.
However, according to L’Equipe, they’ve made it clear that they wouldn’t be pursuing a deal until they can move some players on. Mesut Ozil, in particular, is one who would have to leave for Fekir to arrive.
That leaves Fekir looking to Spain, with Sevilla, Real Betis and Valencia all keen but no formal negotiations have been opened up with any of those clubs.
All roads currently point to an exit although it seems like the Emirates is an unlikely destination at this point in time.
