After claims that Manchester United were interested in Dalian Yifang’s Yannick Carrasco, Arsenal are the latest to join the fray, and they seem serious.
This is what Foot Mercato in France are reporting, claiming that a meeting took place on Tuesday involving the Gunners, who are expected to go as far as making a bid in the next few days.
However, as the French website point out, while convincing the Belgian to move might not be all that difficult, getting his club to go along with the whole thing could prove trickier.
Having recently appointed Leonardo Jardim at the helm, who knows Carrasco well from their time at Monaco together, the Chinese side will want to please their new manager as best they can, and selling one of their key players isn’t the best way to start a productive relationship.
Still only 25, the Belgium international has time to get his European career back on track if he so wishes, and it seems the Premier League, if Dalian Yifang agree, could be his next destination.
It’s a big ‘if’, though.
