Arsenal, Everton and Leicester have all made ‘requests’ for Roma defender Roger Ibañez, who is on loan from Atalanta.
The Brazilian centre-back has been a key player for the Italian side this summer, starting all but one of their 14 league games this season and featuring in the Europa League.
Those displays have not gone unnoticed elsewhere, with a report back in September stating that Leicester were keen before completing a deal for Wesley Fofana.
Liverpool were believed to have joined the list of admirers earlier this month, with claims that they were looking at the 22-year-old after losing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to long-term injuries.
Arsenal and Everton can now be added to that list, according to Calciomercato, who say they have joined the Foxes in making ‘requests’ for the centre back.
Roma are not keen on a sale, though, and have made it clear that the player will not leave for less than £30-35m.
Quite when Arsenal, Everton or Leicester made their enquiries isn’t made clear, but all three were certainly in the hunt for a centre back in the summer, so perhaps they came then.
All three got them eventually, with Gabriel Magalhães going to the Emirates, Ben Godfrey moving to Merseyside and the Foxes finalising a deal for Fofana eventually.
That would suggest they aren’t going to be pushing hard to sign Ibañez any time soon, but if this rumour picks up pace, we know where it started at least.
