It’s only been a few days since Arsenal were first linked to Grêmio forward Everton Cebolinha, but it looks like things may be happening quite fast.
Radio Grenal now brings a story saying an official from the Gunners’ medical staff is expected to visit Porto Alegre this week.
They say Everton would have his medical, which is ‘common process for the transfer of players once the business is close to being done’.
We pretty much know this is a necessary process, but it’s still a little weird to see it happening now since there haven’t even been reports of an official bid from the Gunners.
Grêmio themselves continue to deny having received any official offers for Everton, even though the player is actually confident he may be leaving soon.
After the game against Vasco this weekend, the forward admitted he may leave Grêmio before the Copa do Brasil clash this week.
“I have a proposal, I can’t say the club. I don’t guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday, we will see,” said Everton.
It would be quite unusual for Arsenal to do a medical with a player who isn’t about to sign a contract. So perhaps the London side are pretty confident that a bid will be accepted this week.
