Yunus Musah was part of Arsenal’s academy last season and represented the club in U18 Premier League matches. He scored four goals and registered three assists in 15 appearances.
In the summer transfer window, the 16-year-old left the Gunners and joined Valencia.
Marcelino included the youngster in first team training on Tuesday and that has caught the attention of the Spanish press. Today’s edition of AS claims the manager wanted to see the young midfielder’s evolution first hand.
While explaining the teenager, the report state those in charge at the Emirates believe allowing Musah to leave Arsenal was a ‘serious mistake’.
The Premier League side are one of the clubs who regularly provide youngsters an opportunity in the first team and losing the midfielder would have naturally been disappointing for the Europa League runners-up, unless they didn’t rate him at all.
Valencia’s idea was to include the young player in their U19 squad, but he has been already part of their reserve team in preseason.
After successfully impressing for the Mestalla (reserve team), Musah has been given an opportunity to train with the first team.
