Because a transfer isn’t official until it’s actually official (funny how that works, right?), it’s worth keeping an eye on updates until the very end.
For example, we all know that a player passing his medical doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll sign for said club (Hi Willian!), and so we’ll keep you in the loop with most transfers until the very end.
The same applies with William Saliba to Arsenal, after the young centre-back chose to join the Gunners over their local rivals Tottenham, with a fee of €30m going the other way to Saint-Etienne.
Originally expected to complete his move on Tuesday, the 18-year-old’s transfer has taken a bit longer to get over the line it seems, but confidence remains in France that it will get done.
In fact, Yahoo! Sports journalist Manu Lonjon claims the player should put pen to paper on his contract in the ‘next 24 hours’ meaning either Wednesday or Thursday.
And if local newspaper Le Progrès are to be believed, it’ll be sooner rather than later, because Saliba is apparently already in England, meaning it shouldn’t be long now.
That’s all, folks, but this one certainly does seem like it will get done, barring any medical issues.
