Yesterday, a report in Spanish daily AS suggested Arda Turan could be leaving Barcelona this summer.
Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Fenerbahce were said to be interested in the services of the Turkish star, but he is likely to hold talks with Luis Enrique to analyse his situation at the club.
According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Chelsea are also interested in Turan, and have been long term admirers of the player.
Sport say Chelsea came close to signing Turan last summer, but the player instead went to Barcelona as he wanted to win trophies. That’s a rather harsh assessment, but turned out to be accurate.
Things have changed now, and the player has failed to make an impact at the club. Turan doesn’t want to switch clubs again this summer, and is willing to fight for his place at Barcelona.
Chelsea, however, are interested in him, and a big money offer could change things. Arsenal, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are also lurking around, and things could get interesting should Barcelona and Turan decide to part ways this summer.
Chelsea recently have conducted business with Barcelona for Fabregas and Pedro, and could try to sign another Barcelona player.
It must be said that given his season, or half season, at Barcelona, Turan would be lucky if it’s true Arsenal and Chelsea want him.
