Just like an annoying fly at a picnic on a beautiful summer evening, Lauren Koscielny to Bayern Munich refuse to go away no matter how many times you try and swat it away.
Making very little sense other than the fact he’s a defender and quite good at what he does, the Bundesliga side aren’t exactly in dire need of a new centre-back and Arsenal don’t want to sell.
France Football mention it in their Tuesday edition anyway as they look at which French players could be on the move this summer, as well as giving a percentage for each one.
Arsenal fans will be pleased to know this has been given a solid 10% chance of happening, making it the lowest of the bunch.
Koscielny to Bayern was a thing before they signed Mats Hummels from Dortmund as the club were weighing up which one to go for.
However, France Football do reckon that with Mehdi Benatia going to Juventus, the Bundesliga side could return for a second attempt, but that seems very unlikely.
Let’s be honest here: Koscielny is probably the first or second name on Wenger’s team sheet and even if Bayern did make an attempt at signing him, would he want to sit on the bench behind Jerome Boateng and Hummels, even if he’d probably win a few more trophies?
The answer to that is most likely no, and a new contract at Arsenal is probably the likeliest of options, even if he does have three years left on his current deal.
