Arsenal are interested in a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt, but also have their eye on PSG’s Julian Draxler.
That’s according to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, who says the German pair are on Arsenal’s list of potential signings.
Falk linked Arsenal to Brandt last week, claiming that the Gunners were keen on the Dortmund man and that their scouts had already made moves behind the scenes.
It’s believed Mikel Arteta wants to add another midfielder to his squad and several have been named as potential targets over the past few weeks.
Falk added Brandt’s name to the list, but the rumour has been categorically denied by the Bundesliga club, who insist that a transfer is not on the cards and Arsenal are yet to show even a hint of interest.
The journalist, though, is insistent that something is going on but says Brandt is not the only German that Arsenal are eyeing up.
“Last week it was reported by myself that Arsenal are interested in Julian Brandt,” he told BILD.
“There is actually something going on there, and Dortmund can well imagine selling in the winter.
“Now, the question is whether they will receive offers in the current situation, do they want to wait until the summer?
“Beneath Julian Brandt is a German name which is particularly interesting for them, Julian Draxler.
“PSG have him on the transfer list and want him sold as his contract runs out in the summer. They (Arsenal) are watching him, he is a candidate, but he is not the only one.
“However, he is one that is available so it could well be that it happens. He would fit the team, so let’s leave ourselves open for now and watch whether there is anything in the next few weeks and months.”
