Arsenal’s chances of signing Alexander Isak in the summer transfer window have been given a boost with Jokin Aperribay ‘flexible’ should he receive offers.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who say the striker has an agreement with the Real Sociedad chief should any offers arrive this year.
Despite a disappointing campaign so far, Isak still seemingly has plenty of suitors around Europe, with reports today stating that he is very popular in the Premier League.
Arsenal are one of the clubs believed to be interested in the Sweden star, with it claimed they are ‘in love’ with the striker and ‘literally fighting’ to secure his signature.
Indeed, they are beginning to assume that, faced with growing demands for their star, they will ‘have to listen to offers and negotiate’ for him, and there are two reasons for this.
Firstly because his market values is ‘skyrocketing’ and it is anticipated that very high offers will arrive at some point. Indeed, it cannot be ruled out that someone will pay his €90m release clause.
Secondly, Jokin Aperribay ‘made a commitment’ last summer with Isak that he would show a ‘more flexible stance’ when it came to negotiating should a high proposal arrive from a powerful club in European football.
So, although their initial intention is not to be tough, the reality is that La Real know they will have to negotiate at some point, particularly if the striker requests they do so.
Arsenal showed interest in the January transfer window, but there was no hope of a deal happening then. In the summer, though, things will be different, and they will at least find the Spanish side open to negotiations.
