For the past few weeks, multiple reports from the Turkish press have stated Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey.
On June 30th, Yeniçağ stated Galatasaray vice-president Erden Timur had made a trip to London to hold talks with the Gunners over a potential deal for the right-back. Earlier this month, Akşam reported Spurs have made an offer to sign him.
The latest report from Akşam mentions Arsenal, Tottenham, Juventus and even Newcastle United as his suitors.
It’s said the two north London clubs have ‘approached’ the Frenchman while the Magpies have followed him closely.
Despite several European clubs lining up to sign the 22-year-old, a transfer has been ruled out this summer. That’s because the report states ‘it was decided’ for the fullback to continue with the Turkish club.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has also expressed his desire to retain the defender.
“We want to continue with Boey and [Victor] Nelsson. We have a Champions League goal and this goal can be achieved if the players stay in the team,” Buruk said.
Last month, Boey admitted he’s “flattered” with reports linking him to Arsenal and talked about his desire to move to the Premier League. Galatasaray’s latest decision may not go down too well then, and this is unlikely to be the last word said on this transfer.
