Arsenal and Newcastle United have been included in Sergej Milinković-Savić’s suitors list.
On June 13th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the north London club and the Magpies are viewed as possible options for the Lazio star this summer.
Back in April and May, reports in Italy stated the midfielder’s sale is vital for the Serie A side to reshape their squad next season. He has not managed to get a move away from the club so far.
Fast forward to July and Il Messaggero have a report on the Biancocelesti, in which the 27-year-old’s situation is discussed.
Lazio have many unknowns and the one that concerns them the most is the future of the Serbia international.
Arsenal and Newcastle are named as Milinković-Savić’s suitors. His agent, Mateja Kežman, ‘reiterates’ the player will ‘not stay’ at Lazio. With regards to the Premier League sides, it’s said they have made offers of around €50-55m.
The proposals made by both Mikel Arteta’s side and the Tyneside club for the player ‘do not satisfy’ Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito.
It needs to be seen if either the Gunners or Newcastle will raise their offer for Milinković-Savić, in order to convince the Serie A side’s chief.
