FIFA have banned Chelsea from registering new players for the next two transfer windows and the Blues are now waiting for the ban to be overturned.
Despite the current situation, it hasn’t stopped the Stamford Bridge club from planning for next season with a hope they will be allowed to register players.
Tutto Mercato Web in Italy claims Maurizio Sarri’s side, who have already qualified for next season’s Champions League, have set their sights on Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan.
It’s explained the west London club are joined by Real Madrid in the race for the Slovakia international and in recent weeks, these two clubs were ‘ready to propose’ a very high figure of ‘around €100m’ to secure the centre-back’s services.
However, the Nerazzurri did not listen to Chelsea or Madrid as they want to tie down the defender to a new deal. The player feels the same way, and wants to stay.
TMW reports Skriniar’s renewal is a formality now and the Serie A side are expected to make his contract extension news official later this month.
