Earlier today, we covered the news from UOL which said Liverpool are working hard to sign a new midfielder, anticipating their plans of summer signings for the January window.
One of the names revealed in Bruno Andrade’s story had been the one of Matheus Nunes, who’s said to be on ‘top’ of Jurgen Klopp’s list, and it turns out there’s a couple of more players who are being watched by the Reds.
Just like Nunes, he’s also just arrived at a new club, having signed for Benfica on a €10m deal this summer.
It was Jorge Mendes who made the operation for his transfer from River Plate, and as mentioned in the story, the official now has a ‘close and trusty’ relationship with Liverpool director Julian Ward.
The midfielder’s name is said to be ‘on the rise behind the scenes’ at Anfield. The problem is that he’s just arrived at the Lisbon side and is protected by a €120m release clause.
Then on Twitter, Bruno Andrade claims the Reds have a third name in sights, and that’s the well known Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
What is said to be a ‘small obstacle’ for Liverpool in that case is that the Bundesliga side evaluate him at more than €100m, meaning the other two may be cheaper alternatives for the January window.
