It’s been close to a month since Manchester City confirmed Sergio Agüero will leave the Etihad when his contract expires at the end of this season and the forward is yet to confirm his next destination.
The 32-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to Barcelona, but earlier this week, both the La Liga side and the player dismissed claims of an imminent transfer agreement.
On Wednesday, Deportes Cuatro explained the Argentina international is ready to lower his salary demands in order to help him seal a switch to the Camp Nou.
While there are no concrete claims of Ronald Koeman’s side being close to reaching an agreement for the Citizens star’s signing, he has received advice from his compatriot and former national team mate, Gabriel Milito.
Milito, who is currently managing Argentinos Juniors, represented Barca during his playing career. He has detailed why the City attacker should join the Catalan club in the summer.
“Barcelona is a perfect club for Kun for their conditions. I am hopeful Messi can continue at Barcelona, with Laporta that possibility is more feasible,” Milito told Tyc Sports.
“For Argentines, if they get together it would be a very great satisfaction; and for them, who started [their careers] at the same time, it would also be the finishing touch in their careers, although we hope they will continue for much longer.”
